myTV EventLog CLI v1.0.0.0
Filed under: , , ,

This utility will fix the EventLog issues some users ran into with the 1.2.09090 release.

Download this file to the computer where myTV is installed (if you are running the service remotely, it also needs to be downloaded and executed on that computer) and run the following commands;

  • EventLogCLI.exe -eventlogremove myTV
  • EventLogCLI.exe -eventlogremovesource myTV
  • EventLogCLI.exe -eventlogremovesource myTVservice
  • EventLogCLI.exe -eventlogadd myTV myTV
  • EventLogCLI.exe -eventlogwriteentry myTV

Once all commands have been run open your EventViewer, navigate to and open the Applications and Services Logs node. You should find a new eventlog named myTV, double click on this to open the logfile and there should be an Informational entry saying "Testentry from EventLogCLI.".

At this point both myTV and myTVservice should function as expected.

The logcreation has been rewritten to be handled from the Installer for future builds (1.2.09097 onwards) so this is a stopgap measure only.

I am not understanding how to run this.  When I click on the app it just flashes a black screen

Open an elevated command prompt, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the file in question and run it.
