The Tuesday build. A few Tuesdays late, and on a Friday, but still :)
New in this release;
- The webcollection is now 80% functional and fully automatic. Make sure you enter your TheTVDB Account ID into myTV settings for this feature to work fully.
- The licensing system is almost fully implemented, but not activated. I will leave it as is for at least two more cycles (so, roughly 10 days) to check server performance etc. Once it's deemed stable it will go live which means that those of you running on more than one computer with a single license will get reduced (or completely non-working) functionality.
- Transparent background can be selected in Settings/Skins. This should (as it's untested) let those of you running modified Media Center themes enjoy the same colors/backgrounds within myTV as in the rest of Media Center.
- Selecting Settings/Database no longer crashes the application.
- Updated MediaInfo.dll to the latest version (0.7.15.0).
- Included the NeverOverwrite attribute on the MediaInfo Component which means it will not downgrade your current file. It also means it will not update your current file, in case you have an older one already installed. Either way it should not make a difference as the minor updates are fully compatible with eachother.
- Other internal fixes and changes.
Installation notes;
- The netsh commands are still required if this is your first ever myTV install.
- Microsoft SQL Server needs to be installed prior to myTV. Version 2005 SP2 or 2008 are fine, although 2008 is preferred as it means you do not have to upgrade once it is mandatory.
- The installer should be run as an elevated [Administrative] user - the application [or Media Center] should not! If you do not have a normal user on your HTPC, please create one before installing and using myTV as it will save us all a lot of headache.
- During installation, please enter the username/password for a normal user as the "service account". If you like, you can create a separate account for this. At minimum it requires Read permission to your FileSystem.
- If you run into problems during installation, configuration or usage of myTV - please check the Wiki. Should an answer not be found, don't hesitate to post in the forums.
