How do I configure Media Center to display details when it crashes?

If you're ever asked to post details of an error message or crash from within VMC, you need to add a few lines to your registry. When you do this, it will add an extra button to your dialog box called 'Details'. When you click on this, it will display the error message and what caused it.

Please take a screenshot of the error and post it along with the error description in the myTV forums.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Media Center\Settings\Extensibility] "EnableErrorDetails"=dword:00000001

Copy and paste the above 3 lines into notepad and save the file to "errordetails.reg".

Make sure Media Center is not running. Then doubleclick the file and apply the changes to the registry. Start media center again, recreate the error and select the new option [Details]. You should be able to see the error message details and what caused it from there.
